FILE TRANSMISSION
The fastest way to send work, for many file types,
is through electronic file transfer. There are several ways to send
files to Ford Graphics, depending on the operating system you have
and the type of service you need. Below are the methods of choices.
ELECTRONIC WORK ORDER
At Ford Graphics you can now have your reprographic needs fulfilled
online. All you need is a computer with internet access and a web
browser. Simply go on line and point your browser to www.fordgraphics.com
and select an electronic work order.
CAD FILES
APPRENTICE
Ford Graphics uses Pagemasters Apprentice (also known as Oce Reprodesk)
at all of our locations for CAD plotting. This software supports
Autocad .DWG files as well as HPGL, CALCOMP .plt and .TIFF file
formats, and includes a client module which you can download from
our web site at www.fordgraphics.com. Complete instructions for
downloading and installation of this program are available on our
web site. If you don not have web access and you would like to receive
a copy of Apprentice, please call our Helpdesk at 818.500.0225,
and we will send you a copy.
PLEASE NOTE: All users of Apprentice
must contact Ford Graphics to register prior to sending work to
Ford Graphics. We need to make sure your name, delivery, account
and billing information is correctly listed in your new software
before you begin sending jobs to us electronically. Call the Helpdesk
at the number listed above to register as an Apprentice user.
INTERNET JOB DROP
If the Apprentice software does not meet your needs, you can drop
files with instructions into our job drop folder at ftp.fordgraphics.com.
You can use Netscape 3.0 (or later) to drag and drop files from
your Mac desktop or Windows File Manager/Explorer, or use any of
the popular shareware programs, such as CuteFTP, to upload files
directly to our server.
SPECIAL NOTE: You must call or email
the appropriate department at Ford Graphics to notify us that you
have a job in the job drop directory, AND include detailed instructions
and contact information with the job in the form of a README file.
Compressed files (zip or .sea) are encouraged.
