SCAN & FILE PREPARATION

DOCUTECH - BLACK & WHITE
Scan images at twice the lines-per-inch (lpi) being used for final output. at 170 dpt. Do not exceed 200 dpi. Convert images t 8-bit grayscale.

SMALL FORMAT COLOR
For small format color output scan images at 200 dpi.

LARGE FORMAT COLOR
For large format color, scan images at 100 dpi at final size. To calculate your scanning dpi use the following formula:
height + width {of final output} x 100 =
scan dpi height + width {of original}

Example: Final is 32" x 40".
Original is 8" x 10"

32" + 40" = 72"
-------------------- = 4 x 100 = 400 dpi
8" + 10" = 18"

GRAPHIC FILE SETUP
1. For color output save as single page EPS files. Send all original files including placed images.
2. Save Douctech jobs as multiple page Postscript files.
3. Send a laser proof with your job.
4. Before saving your file TURN OFF all color management software (CMS).

Send files as HPGL2 or Calcomp plot files. To receive configuration chart please call 818.500.0225.

TIP
If sending .DWG files send any special fonts, scale, pen weights and all X-REFS. This information is very important in order to ensure correct output. Other Formats accepted for systems that don't support Drawing or Plot file. For information please call 818.500.0225.
